He’s here and ready to take over Marvel Comics. Writer Kelly Thompson, Artist Tokitokoro, Colorist Jim Campbell, and Letterer Joe Caramagna wrote a brilliant first issue.

The issue kicks off with Jeff in the park. He is enjoying a nice day, and then proceeds to go for a walk when he sees Doctor Strange. Strange is hopping out of the Sanctum, and Jeff goes inside it. From there, the door slams shut.
2 snakes then come and greet Jeff, and he is scared of them. He then goes into a room, and finds a table with gems. He steals one of them and swallows it. Jeff then spits it out, and something starts happening to him.
The snakes then frighten him again, and this leads to a wild chase. Jeff’s shadow demon then reveals it, and even more chaos ensues. The shadow demon then chases after him. We then see a fight break out between the 2 of them. Jeff tries to heat it, but that doesn’t work.
They are then teleported, and Jeff meets up with Deadpool. After they hang out, Jeff goes and tries to stop the shadow demon. The final panel shows Jeff trying to bite it.
Final Grade: 10/10
Kelly Thompson has once again proven she is one of the queens of comics. Just one issue in, Jeff The Land Shark is one of my favorite Marvel Comics of the year. This character is funny, and Kelly knows how to write him very well.
