The real intentions become clear in issue #2 by Steve Foxe, Kyle Hotz, Luca Maresca, Rachelle Rosenberg, Mattia Iacono & Cory Petit

ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM
Previously, Doctor Doomed tasked his adopted son Kristoff Vernard to seek proof of that confirmed his rule was successful. In order to accomplish this mission, Vernard looked to the future. Meaning he summoned people from the future to the present time. Looking for anyone that would testify to the greatness of Doctor Doom’s empire. After a few failed attempts, Kristoff found exactly what Doom was looking for. Or did he?
THE TEAM
The efforts were not for naught. Doom’s adopted son managed to summon an entire team of heroes from the future. They were witnesses and living proof of the success that is the United Latveria in the future. Evidently, they could not have arrived in a better time. Currently, there was a prison break in the Raft and countless supervillains were on the prowl. But fear not, Doctor Doom’s Superior Avengers hit the ground running and began collecting the escaped prisoners ASAP! But it became apparent that these “Avengers” had ulterior motives. Which seemed to completely oppose the will of Doom.
*SPOILERS FOR ISSUE #2*

MAGICLESS FUTURE
As hinted in the previous issue, these Avengers weren’t exactly the biggest fans of Doctor Doom. Turns out they used to served Doom until they got tired of living without free will. So, as these stories go, they rebelled against their ruler. However, they underestimated the lengths to which Doom had gone to preserve his rule. Killmonger stated that Doom spent decades at a time isolated in his kingdom. While other thought this was a fatal mistake, they didn’t know what he was doing all time in isolation.
MAGIC IS DOOM
The rebellion stormed Doomstadt. Not only they bested him. But they were in search of all the magical items Doom had accumulated throughout the years. These items were earth’s last hope. If magic undid the world, magic could restore it. Once they broke into the armory they realized the truth. Victor Von Doom didn’t just accumulate all the magic of the world for a collection. Instead he made all of it part of him. So if the time came, Magic would also perish with Doom.

HOW ABOUT THE ART?
There is a major contrast of styles playing off each other in this issue. First, you have the sharp and bright part of the story by Luca Maresca and Mattia Iacono. Which comprises the present time when Doom has just taken over the world. Hope is not lost.
The heroes of the world are still fighting the good fight. You then have the rugged and ominous part of the story. It illustrates the doomed days of the future where hope was lost to Doom. This is storytelling through art styles at it’s finest.
OVERALL GRADE: 9/10
There will be more that 60 single issues by the time this event concludes. With that being said, I would remiss if I didn’t recommend this series to everyone. The entire premise of this series is consequences.
Doom’s own action become his undoing in the future. But what happens to those who barely survived tyranny and oppression? How do they cope? What are they willing to do to save the world from this fate? We will find out soon enough I hope.
