TWO-FACE #6: Closing Arguments

Published:

Two-Face #6: Things don’t change they just repeat in Gotham City. At least that is what Harvey is battling against as he must choose to save the ones he loves while letting his inner demon out or staying true to his promise of changing for good. There is one last judgment to make.

The Art and Letters:

The pain and the struggle shines through the artwork by Fabio and Ivan in this epic finale. The way that Harvey and his inner self have been drawn have been nothing sort of fantastic and detailed. The way that the struggle is apparent on his two faces and the line work as well as the shading is some of their finest work yet.

When it comes to the cover this one is without a doubt my favorite cover of the run. It is so haunting and tragic and tells so much story on its own. Hassan brings out his best lettering on the panels in this issue. Every voice has its inflections and individuality to them including Harvey’s two personalities.

The Story:

Christian leans into the full-on tragedy that is Harvey Dent. The ending in which his evil side wins to save those he cares for shows what a sympathetic villain he could be. Christian takes us within the mind showing how Bruce is his friend and they even make a soft deal that which in the end does not matter. I can honestly say I did not see this ending coming at all which is a testament to the writing done.

Overall Grade: 9.8/10

Two-Face #6 wraps up this tragic tale of one of Gotham’s most notorious DAs turned criminal. The banter within the courtroom and the shocking finale cap off an incredible run that this story was. I would love to dive into more of this criminal underworld of Gotham City with this team at the helm!
