We start with a flashback to 16 years ago. We see a young Mark get tossed into the water. The next scene cuts to 27 years before to space. An astronaut looks like she is about to get hit by a spaceship. Finally, we see Mark alone in a room. Ryan then shows up, and the 2 of them start talking.

Another flashback pops up, and 14 years prior in New York on Ellis Island.

Mark is being checked out, and we see him back in the room with Ryan. We then see another flashback to Aquitar’s capital city of Analis. We see Mark trying to get over his fear of water, and it doesn’t go well. A creature attacks, and Mark’s mom gets killed by it. We then see he ends up being found by an Eltarian guard.

We then cut back to Ryan and Mark, and by this time, we see Mark transform into his suit, and attack Ryan. The last panel shows Mark on the ground.

Overall Grade: 10/10

This book is continuing to be incredible. Melissa and the team have crafted an amazing world, and really awesome characters as well. But the character backstories are also helping to build on the story.
