We are getting one more fantastic story from The Fold. Writer Kendra Wells, Artist Vash Taylor, Colorist Valentina Bianconi, and Letterer Jim Campbell have pulled together a fantastic story.
If you haven’t read the 2 other Midst comics from Dark Horse, Address Unknown, and The Valorous Farmer, then you are in for a treat. These books take the world that Third Person created, and expands on it so much.
That really starts from the writing that Kendra Wells does. They have taken the world and made it their own in this story. From the first page, you are automatically sold on where this story is going. Our main character Daggle is going through the ringer in the story, and Kendra’s writing makes him such a great character.
But it’s not just the story’s writing. Vash’s art pops off the page, and they knew how to draw Kendra’s fantastic story. Combine that with Valentina’s use of colors and how Jim lettered the story in, this comic is made by an all-star comic team.
Outside of all of this, the comic is incredible. All the elements combined together make a wonderful story. You see our main character Daggle living in 2 different worlds. He’s both in his normal home life, and in a world of science. Being split between the 2 worlds makes the story a lot more interesting, compelling, and a lot of fun to read.
Final Grade: 10/10
I thoroughly enjoyed the first 2 Midst comics, so it’s not a huge surprise that this last one was also incredible. Kendra and their team weaved a beautiful story together, and made it a joy to read as well.
