Hello there! Padawan J here, the resident Star Wars expert from the ODPH! This week I’m going to be reviewing the latest issue of Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures: Phase III from Daniel Jose Older & Dark Horse Comics!

This issue is an interesting one, and was one that I didn’t expect to be honest. It’s action packed, and there’s a lot going on with it. So let’s jump into it, and discuss it!

Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures – Phase III #12 by Daniel Jose Older (writer), Caio Filipe (illustrator), Michael Atiyeh (color artist), Comicraft’s Tyler Smith & Jimmy Betancourt (letterer’s), Harvey Tolibao & Kevin Tolibao (cover art) is an interesting one and it was unexpected one. But overall, and most importantly, it’s fun!

This story involves Ram Jomaram, a Padawan learner, on the planet Valo in the city Lonisa. A city under the control of the Nihil.

The time has come for an uprising, and Ram Jomaram & Scarlet Skulls are fighting back. The issue has a LOT going on, but then again it’s a war and there’s always more than one front. It’s a fun read that sets up very nicely for the next few issues.

VOTE IN THIS YEARS’ CHEERSIES!

My favorite part of the issue is the action sequences that take place. Star Wars is of course known for it’s spectacular battles and this issue has that in spades. It really lends itself to the overall story.

FINAL POINT: It’s a fun issue that is an interesting setup for the next few issues to come. An action packed story that feels like a story straight out of The Clone Wars, it’s definitely an issue you’re going to want to pick up this week.

Score: 7.5 out of 10
