It’s a tale as old as time. Kiss the girl or the world ends. That’s a lot of pressure for a first date but leave it to Ellie Phimister and some of the strongest women in the Marvel Universe to save it all with only a second left on the clock! If only they can avoid the TVA in time. This is the collected works of Marvel’s Voices Infinity Comics: Negasonic Teenage Warhead #44-49 in print.

Negasonic Teenage Warhead Shines in Print
If you missed this story on Marvel Unlimited it’s ok, I did too. Fortunately for us though Marvel has printed the collected issues and presented us with one wild, thrill rise of a story!
We find Ellie and Deadpool completing missions together under the guise of friends. Ellie is honestly getting paid by Deadpool to be his friend. As she drives him to his next job, catching a wild boar, something interesting happens…a premonition of the end of the universe.
More from Marvel Voices!
Wild hijinks and introspective conversations eventually lead us to the point of no return. It’s Negasonic Teenage Warhead vs The TVA vs Megasonic Endless Godhead! Be honest you didn’t see that swerve coming either, did you?
Writing a Solid Foundation for the Future of Negasonic Teenage Warhead
Andrew Wheeler takes the reigns of a character popularized by the Deadpool films and sets out to take her comic book counterpart on a fantastic adventure. I can safely say “mission accomplished”. Wheeler writes the comedy of Deadpool spectacularly, picking up on Ryan Reynolds type cues from the movies. Hilarious references and fourth wall breaks land well and offer a light counter to the very serious and angry Negasonic Teenage Warhead.
The Ladies of Marvel Get Time to Shine
A great tool to use in this book was the expertise of fellow female Marvel heroes such as Emma Frost, Scarlet Witch, Invisible Woman, and my personal favorite, Boom Boom. They all bring a unique perspective and advice for Ellie that feels like it serves the plot well, not just for the sake of cameos.
Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Paradoxes
I won’t lie, most of the meat of this book gets bogged down by exposition and dialogue, but we are explaining time travel, precognition, paradoxes, and alternate timelines, so that comes with the territory. The third act however, really steps up and pulls everything together. There’s great action, great character interaction, and a beautiful moment in time.
The Beauty of Negasonic Teenage Warhead
The artwork in this issue is simple. That’s not bad, let me explain. Everything is clean and well executed. You’ve got two artists working in conjunction, so styles need to be blended properly. To do that, you must keep it simple. To be honest though, is anything in art “simple”? Not really, so know that I mean that term in the most endearing way.
The colors take that beauty in simplicity and make it a sight to see. Once we get off of the deep, rich colors of Earth, Space gives us a neon, vibrant glow. I love the use of colors in the book throughout Ellie’s journey.
Everything Points to 8/10
Negasonic Teenage Warhead is a stellar example of taking a really big, outlandish idea and making fun and easy to follow. Ellie’s powers make perfect sense and bring some really cool dynamics into the mix! I throughly enjoyed her journey into her past as well as her blazing a path to her future.
