Star Trek Lower Decks: Returns for thier Final Frontier

All good things must come to an end, my fellow inhabitants of the Alpha Quadrant. All your favorite characters have returned, and in proper Lower Decks

fashion, with the particular style that has become a hallmark of the Star Trek Franchise.

Dos Cerrittos: A Mirror Broken?!

Yes, we are dealing with the old go-to of meeting your other universal self. But this time, instead of going straight to the Terran Empire Mirror Universe. The Crew of the USS Cerritos meet up with another version of themselves. The joys of animation it gives you all the flexibility of the Tamarian Language but in pictures!

One thing I love about the modern multiverse idea is that this episode shows slight differences that are less drastic than we’ve seen in the mirror universe. The variants in this episode are just one or two life-changing moments away from our main cast, but it was a nice change of pace.

Aside from doing the A-typical doppel swap. All this episode did was give our lower deckers a chance to look at and into themselves and grow as a person. For the final season, Boim’s just has a bit of ad-PADD-tange

Shades of Green: The Solar Sail Race for the Ages!!

It’s a Tendi episode!!!! YAY! After Tendi had done her familial duty, she chose to take a sabbatical from her Star Fleet Duties. We see her in the wraps of space piracy, but nicely! Not very Green Orion of her! Tendi and her crew came in contact with Blue OrEEons, and it was a great throwback!

She finds out her younger sister is pregnant in the very sneaky, nosy Tendi way, and to save her family’s honor, they have to invoke an ancient Orion ritual! A perilous Solar Sail race, and whichever clan loses they all lose their wealth to the Orion Syndicate.

Hilariously, the Blues cheat, and while in second place, Tendi, her sister, and the whole crew of apparently misfit female Orion pirates. All confess their true selves to one another. After the awwws and I love you’s. Tendi gets to work in Starfleet fashion. Tendi decides to disable both ships because if there are no winners then there should be no losers, Right?!?

But of course, Tendi’s idea leaves both clans penniless! Thank goodness Boims and Mariner have just completed a mission to rid a planet of all its wealth, as they are now a utopian society. So Tendi, in her official capacity as Lt Tendi, “hires” her family to “dispose” of the riches and jewels.

Best Little Nanite Hotel

With our favorite foursome reunited, I guess Fivesome is on a mission to help a resort satellite with a nanite infestation. Boimler gets recruited by Commander Ransom to bring back an AWOL Admiral. Thinking he’s the sacrificial lamb on this mission, he almost joins the overly-tanned Admiral.

But let’s talk about the nanites! In standard fashion, they absorb energy and matter, wreaking havoc on the vibe of the vacation venue. The away mission did have someone in place of Boimler. Jenny, Mariner’s Semi-Ex-Girlfriend joins them on her last mission before getting promoted and transferred off the ship.

It’s a quick and fun episode that still has a small bit of character growth, but speaking of small, there was a reason why the Glumpus (nanite d20), it seems, was being controlled by another micro-sized Intrepid Class ship that came through ANOTHER rift.

From The Captains Seat

How have you been feeling about this final season so far? With joy and happiness and more damn references to so damn many other Treks, you would think you are staring into a wormhole.

I just went on about the big plot points. It’s obvious that Boim’s will have a minor arc over the season coming to terms with his doppelself. Considering he did “acquire” that PADD breaking, how many rules?!

The Double episode premier hits hard, but as far as episode three, I think they could have kept the momentum. Let’s hope we get out of impulse and kick into Warp 9!

Are you excited for the rest of the season? What is up with Starbase 80 and all these rifts?
