As we enter episode two of the second season of House Of The Dragon, King Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney) is enraged. As the news floods the castle, everyone is scrambling to find out who killed the heir. Aegon says one time, “I want war”.  Full of anger he smashes up all of the things within his quarters. All of the workers within the castle are questioned, and Aegon wants answers.

Otto (Rhys Ifans) suggests that there should be a public funeral to show the people what has been done. Even though everyone was not on board for the open casket funeral, they do it anyway. Haelena at one point has a full panic attack, as she sitting on the wagon. Haelena protested this entire thing and Allicent (Olivia Cooke) is consoling her, while the crowd is calling out to her, as the wagon is stuck, only adding to that panic.

Now at Dragonstone, Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) receives word about that she is accused of Jaehaerys’ murder.  While she is talking, she looks over to Daemon (Matt Smith) while he says not a single word. She wants a word with him, and interrogates him about the entire thing. Daemon says that he sent “The Queen’s vengeance” and he wasn’t responsible for what happened after he had ordered.

There is one big moment where Rhaenyra asks Daemon straight forward, “Do you accept me as your queen and ruler?” He never really answers, and he flies off on his dragon, Caraxes.

Onto Aemond, who is within a brothel. He is seeking motherly love from a woman in this establishment of lust. He is in some sort of fetal position and is reflecting on what might have happened to him. It looks like it has bothered his soul.

Rhanerya gets to talk to Mysaria, and grants her freedom. Daemon had requested that she be freed, so that’s what Rhaneyra will do as Rhaneyra sees that Mysaria has been loyal and honest. Rhanerya said that Mysaria can sail away on a boat.

While Mysaria was on her way to the boat, she spots Arryk (Luke Tittensor) coming from the shore. She pauses for a second, and then asks for a moment. She notices that is not Erryk (Elliott Tittensor), who has been with Rhaneyra from the start. When Arryk gets into Rhaneyra’s quarters, he draws his sword. Erryk figures out that Arryk is going to attack Rhaneyra, and they both start to fight each other with swords. Erryk ends up winning, and then has to kill Arryk. Erryk is overcome with grief, asks Rhanerya to forgive him, and turns the sword on himself.

This episode was jammed packed with information, and also seeing character’s grieving processes.  It will be interesting to see what will happen in episode three. I am really interested to see what Daemon is up to, and where he is off to do whatever he is set off to do.

This episode was a 10/10.
