Our wonderful robber and hostage are still stuck sitting around for what could be hours, and so that gives us more time for tales of The Boy Wonder!
We dive into the sad and tragic life of Jason Todd in this issue who, along with an unlikely ally, may yet still find his way back to the light of Gotham.
The Art:
I continue to fall in love with the style of art Juni brings to the table, along with the stylistic coloring Chris compliments it with. The characters continue to be drawn in almost a bedtime story manner that just works for the story being told.
And yet, some of the character designs are skewed slightly to look as though we are seeing them in a more monster way which works for the tale being told.
Some fantastic coloring is done in panels such as Damien looking into the abyss to see the green haunting of his past. It’s a style that is vastly unique and powerful. Lastly, the scars physically shown on Jason stand out to me. This issue shows just what he has gone through.
The Writing:
Juni tells us the story of Jason Todd, which, yes, we all know. However, it is told from a more sympathetic angle.
Damien knows what it is like to be cast out and abandoned, and Juni works through the writing to show us this.

Aditya has some stellar moments through lettering, such as when Jason sees The Joker and the way we picture his voice ooze from his vocal chords. This is an all-ages tale that is working to bring in a grander audience.
Overall:
The Boy Wonder is a tale told through a child’s looking glass, showing us a different perspective of Gotham, specifically those who help fight Batman’s war. It’s a story that has plenty of action, intense dialogue, and meaning that we can all look and use deep within ourselves.
