Banner is on a train ride to anywhere but where he was; however, he is not alone on this adventure as three train stowaways and a crossroads demon with his sight set on new eyes are here to make his journey a bit more complicated. Giant Size Hulk showcases Hulk against a Demon demanding payment, but what happens when the only check in the mail is a giant-sized fist?

The Art:

Andrea and KJ do some extraordinarily fun transformation sequences on this issue. We see Banner deliver a Hulk-sized punch while only his arm is transformed, and then he segways into the rest in a fun and unique transition sequence. There’s a scene where the demon is split into two and crawling away, which also looks mighty gnarly fleshed out in the pages. All in all, the action is great for this issue.

The Writing:

Kennedy-Johnson and Petit do a great job with the writing and lettering, showcasing how much delight Hulk seeks from beating enemies to a pulp. Within his big green exterior, they even take us behind his rough exterior, and we see his sentimental side as well as he is protecting the soul within the doll. This story tells a simple yet solid story continuing Bruce’s struggle with Hulk.

Overall:

Sometimes, all you need in a comic is a good old-fashioned battle, which this issue brings to us happily. It’s a quick read and advances Hulk leading into The Incredible Hulk.
