The Story for ‘Hornsby & Halo’ #15

Hornsby & Halo are settling back into their lives as kids. It’s back to school after their almost war starting adventure with The Trillion Dollar Kid and The Rocketfellers. However, as they settle back into life as middle schoolers, everyone is acting off. They don’t think too much of it, until they’re both awakened with vivid dreams they can’t shake. Meanwhile, we go off on a segue and meet some new Unbelievables. They’re musicians and nightmares come to life, but it’s clear there is so much more to this epic looking band.

The Art

The art in these issues continues to be amazing. Beautiful colors, perfect lettering, and amazing line work. A couple moments stuck out for me. The nightmares of Hornsby & Halo are both so perfectly done, you could tell exactly how they were feeling and what was happening. Rose’s nightmare looked so good it was if the page was hotter.

Another standout art moment was meeting “The Deadtones.” While, we only get to see a glimpse of them, we see that glimpse in action. It is truly a collaboration of nightmares come to life, and I can’t wait to see how their stories unfold. Especially the one that appears to have some badass and gorgeous water powers.

Final Thoughts

Meeting The Deadtones was definitely a highlight of this issue, however, what I truly loved seeing was how much Hornsby & Halo have grown. They’ve come to terms with what they are, but they haven’t accepted it. They both want to stay who they are, and they seem to be completely on the same page. They’re not alone in this crazy social experiment for the ages. They got each other. That’s a far spot from where they started, and now they’re ready to meet some more Unbelievables.

Overall Grade: 9/10
