GODZILLA INFINITY ROAR #2: There’s Always a Bigger Fish.

Published:

The old saying that there’s always a bigger fish has never been truer, as Godzilla and Knull’s destruction has led Reed Richards to his final hope. The fate of the universe hangs in the balance as worlds collide, leaving behind a wake of destruction.

Creative Team: Gerry Duggan (WRITER), Javier Garron and Ig Guara (ART), Jesus Aburtov (COLORS), Travis Lanham (LETTERS), and Ken Lashley and Juan Fernandez (COVER).

The Story:

Gerry continues to grow this story bigger and bigger as though he is just seeing how large he can make it. Godzilla has this uncontrollable rage in his eyes as we see him battle Ghidorah and even Galactus in this issue. It is truly like a childhood dream come to life, born out of my bedroom when I was a kid, playing with my toys. I love how no matter who appears, it makes no difference as Godzilla is showing why he is King of all.

The Art and Letters:

The artwork in this particular issue leads to some really fun splash pages. Seeing the flesh being ripped off of Godzilla and Ghidorah as Javier and Ig add little details, such as spit flying from Ghidorah’s mouth with the blows they take, shows the acute attention to detail that makes the punches feel truly heavy. There is a particular page showcasing Godzilla bursting out of Galactus like an Alien that is colored and drawn so beautifully, yet horrifying at the same time. The artwork is on point in this issue and this run.

Final Thoughts:

Godzilla Infinity Roar #2 is every child’s wildest imagination brought to life on the pages, as Godzilla will not go down without a fight. It’s a story that continues to land the biggest punches and get better and better.

Overall Grade 9.5/10
