On the heels of the season two live-action series of One Piece, the first season covered the introductory part of these beloved characters. Monkey D. Luffy (Inaki Godoy), Roronoa Zoro (Mackenyu), Nami (Emily Rudd), Usopp (Jacob Romero), and Sanji (Taz Skylar) are now going on a much more dangerous task of entering the grand line.

If you are not familiar, the animated series of One Piece this “Grand Line” is very important. Not only are agents are sent to attack the One Piece pirate crew, the dangerous waters is another task that they have to deal with. Again, the main question that the season two trailer asks is, what is a pirate? In other words, what is this crew willing to do to get through the grand line?

Without giving away too much, the trailer does introduce a new and beloved character, Tony Tony Chopper (voiced by Mikaela Hoover). Fans who haven’t seen the animated series will learn of Chopper’s history, get your tissues ready everyone. This season also has some familiar faces coming back, like Buggy (Jeff Ward) who I was glad to see is back. Buggy makes me laugh every time I see him.

The crew definitely will have to stand together during this time of getting across the Grand Line. I’m hoping that they don’t steer away too much away from the animated series. Since Eiichiro Oda is involved with the series, I’m hopeful that everything will be well put together.

One Piece Season 2 streams on Netflix on March 13th
