The Story

Matt – This has been such an adventure to go on as we are diving deeper into Batman than I feel we have ever done before. Williamson has one more final amazing story to tell, and it is the perfect life that Bruce has never had. Seeing that Damien has grown up and done the one thing he never could do, and that is make Gotham perfect, shows just what could be. Standing out above all else is that Joshua nails the exact thing that makes the Bat Family so incredible, and it is selflessness. When the team assembles, they all tell Bruce he must win and leave, despite all costs.

The heart tests Bruce every step of the way, and when it is revealed that Bruce must admit defeat, I can truly say that I did not see this coming. In terms of Batman, it should have been obvious because no matter what, Batman keeps fighting. But his admitting defeat is the final piece of the puzzle, and I can’t wait to see him rejoin the fight.

Megan – We’re at the end of one of the best things to come out of DC K.O., all thanks to Joshua Williamson and the artists. In this new world that Damien built, Bruce is perfectly happy. He gets to spend time with his son, his grandson, Gotham is perfectly safe, and everything is simple. However, loudly in the back of his mind, the Heart of Apokolips is a looming presence, desperately wanting Bruce to fight.

Damien has been doing his research and has called a family meeting. The Bat-Family will do anything for their own, and this is no exception. Together, they prepare Bruce for the fight of his life in hopes of saving this utopian world.

Joshua Williamson masterfully brings this incredible miniseries to an end, while keeping your excitement at an all-time high to see what’s next in DC K.O. for Bruce. DC K.O.: Knightfight #4 shows that Bruce doesn’t need to handle this nearly impossible task alone. The Bat-Family comes together to help Bruce in any way they can, with one prize in mind: to keep this world safe. After fighting in the tournament and then fighting his way through these worlds in utter confusion, Bruce finally finds comfort and love with his family. Amongst that love is also support that he desperately needed to fight for the title of King Omega. In this fourth issue, there’s action, there’s emotion, and above all else, there’s love that you can only find amongst those that mean the most.

The Art

Matt – The shots of a perfect Gotham City living and breathing full of life and color fill these panels with hope and capture through art what it means to be Batman. Gotham is a living being, and that rings true even when it is shown in this light. My favorite panels are the fight sequences; they showcase fight styles, grit, and how far Bruce and Damian will go. The art team brings out their best in this finale, and it shows.

Megan – The artwork of DC K.O. Knightfight has been nothing short of spectacular, but the artists ensured that the miniseries ended on the highest note. With amazing looks at the Bat-Family and everyone in their Bat looks, we see precision put into every one of the characters. Along with the Bat-Family, we also get some really great action at the hands of Damien and Bruce, which also drips in emotion. The artists made these panels a huge focal point, bringing so much power to this portion of the story. The artists brought DC K.O.: Knightfight #4 to a beautiful end with their incredible talents. They deserve all their flowers!

Final Thoughts

Matt -10/10. I am glad we got this run. At first, I was skeptical; however, the entire team has proven me wrong. This has been an epic finish to a peak behind the curtain and into the psyche of Bruce Wayne and Batman.

Megan – 10/10. I’m disappointed to see DC K.O.: Knightfight is over, but what a powerful way to end it! The artists went far and beyond to ensure that the miniseries was at top quality from beginning to end.

Overall Grade -10/10
