The Story:
While Tony Stark looks toward the future, his past comes back to haunt him in the form of Madame Masque. Now working with A.I.M., Masque has gained access to a horrible nightmare from Iron Man’s past. Now, Iron Man must stop Madame Masque before she and A.I.M. can create the next great weapon…
The Writing:
Derek: Joshua Williamson is back at Marvel, and boy, he has come back with a bang! The writing in this issue is perfection. The characterization of Tony Stark, the setup of the conflict to come, and the execution of the bad guy’s plan are all top-tier. Williamson’s script had me tearing through this book, and when it was over, I was so disappointed that I had reached the end. Welcome back to Marvel, Joshua, I believe you are going to do Ol’ Shellhead proud!
Kat: Joshua Williamson has taken this character to new heights- LITERALLY. He has taken Tony and given him a brand new story, and I love it so much. I’m so excited to see where the series goes from here.

The Art:
Derek: Carmen Carnero and Nolan Woodard absolutely rocked this issue! Every single page and panel were beautifully laid out, drawn, and colored. The double-page spreads were excellent, especially the reveal of the new armor, which is a true thing of beauty! I love the design of Tony Stark, it really harkens back to classic Iron Man stories and gives the feeling that, even though this is a first issue, it is a continuation of the years of Iron Man lore that came before.
Kat: The art for this issue is incredible. I love how every character has their own style. I also love that Tony has a completely new suit, and it looks incredible.
Final Thoughts:
Derek: 10/10 – This is EVERYTHING I want from an Iron Man story! The characters are on point, and the action and intrigue are thrilling. Absolutely perfect first issue, and I cannot wait to see where this goes in the future!
Kat: 10/10- This new Iron Man comic makes me excited for Tony’s comic book future. This series has everything that both old and new fans will enjoy.
Overall Grade: 10/10
