The Writing:

Tim Seeley pops off with a terrific first issue of my favorite X Team! His understanding of Cable as a character shines though the story. Each story beat works perfectly to set up the conflict and each team member. Seeley uses Cable and X-Force’s history so well by showing the interactions with each new team member. On top of the character interactions, the story that is being set up is intriguing and took a huge swing towards the end of this first issue that really has me incredibly hyped for what is to come.

The Art:

When I tell you that the art in this issue is perfect, I mean that in every way. Every panel on every page is absolutely beautiful. Michael Sta. Maria art mixed with Romulo Fajardo Jr. colors make this book a wonderful sight to see. The characters look incredible, from Cable’s futuristic freedom fighter look to Archangel’s classic costume, Boom Boom’s bright colors to Hellverine’s fantastic fiery skull, everything works together. I cannot say enough about this art team and, like the writing, it makes me so excited to see where this series goes in the future.

Overall Grade: 10/10

X-Force is back! This new team looks to be a great addition to the X-Force legacy, each character works well together and the banter is on point throughout. The story being set up in this issue is one that I cannot wait to read going forward!
