The Story
After finding out that Elbecca is so much more than the quiet and timid little girl she portrayed, things have been heating up very quickly. Behind the Revelation Territories, there has been a plan brewing that no one was aware of except Elbecca and Apocalypse. Elbecca, which isn’t even her real name, is a spy sent by En Sabah Nur from Arakko to invade Revelation’s inner circle. As Revelation’s Chorister, that’s as deep into the inner circle as you can get, as the Chorister’s job is to amplify his powers. Now that Elbecca is deep into having Revelation’s trust, she must complete the mission given to her by Apocalypse.
In X-Men: Book of Revelation #3, we get insight to what Elbecca’s plan is. However, we also get a look at what Revelation’s true plan is that he’s had all along. The third installment puts a spotlight on how unhinged Revelation truly is and how far he’s willing to go to carry out his selfish plan. That even involves taking the life of his own beloved best friend, Warlock.
The Writing
With so much tension throughout the comic, it’s easy to find yourself with raised eyebrows while reading Revelation’s words. Jed MacKay continues the thrilling story of Revelation while giving the readers great insight into how he operates while being the most powerful mutant in the world. I’ll be waiting very anxiously for the story to continue!
The Art
The artwork of X-Men: Book of Revelation #3 is nothing short of remarkable. I really admire the way the artists were able to use white borders throughout the comics as panel separators, which made the vibrant artwork feel like it’s popping off the page. Along with that, the panels are excellently detailed, making you see every move Revelation and Elbecca make towards each other. The artists were able to bring the tone of the comic to life, perfectly portraying the energy of the comic.
Final Thoughts
X-Men: Book of Revelation #3 continues the thrilling tale of Revelation and his conquest for the ultime world domination. The creative team knocked it out of the park!
