The Story

Leonard, Kurt, and Heather have broken into the Revelation Territories to save Logan from the brainwashed version of himself. Leonard and Kurt will do whatever it takes to save their friend but Heather had other plans. In the last issue, it was revealed that Heather wasn’t there to save Wolverine in the same way her teammates were. Heather was there to kill Wolverine, as she says it’s what he would have wanted. Leonard and Kurt, taken completely by surprise, won’t let Heather kill Logan, and will stop at nothing to ensure her plan isn’t completed.

Heather, who has clearly thought through every point of her plan, has the only weapon that can kill Logan with her. Unfortunately for Leonard and Kurt, it can also kill them. Leonard knows he cannot let Heather get her way, so he will fight to the very end. Kurt, who has given his all to be here to help save Logan, is in the worst shape, and doesn’t have the strength to BAMF his way out of the Revelation Territories. On top of all of that, Logan himself as showed up, showing that Revelation has sent his greatest executioner.

The Writing

Saladin Ahmed has made The Last Wolverine an emotional roller coaster ride from start to finish, with the perfect ending. The ending of the comic miniseries shows just how high the stakes are in this world of Revelation, showing that no one is safe. With the three comics that make you understand the character’s perspectives better, and see the love between each character, you feel connected to their stories. Ahmed delivered a perfect ending that’ll pull at your heartstrings and make you want to read so much more of what’s to come.

The artists illustrate the characters and their emotions in such a way, your heart is connected to the storyline all the way through. The detailing of the panels are pitch perfect, with action filled pages that make you sit on the edge of your seat.

The coloring of the comic is fantastic, with a great theme of juxtaposing the darker colors with vibrancy throughout The Last Wolverine #3. The lettering is top notch as there’s a wonderful flow of dialogue that brings power to the words of the characters.
