The Story
The Hulk has always been pure power with his strength, but what happens when The Hulk’s body is taken over by the chaotic powers of the Great Old Ones? Nothing good. Now being the vessel for Edlest, the Infernal Hulk has his own plan he’s putting into action, which can’t be good for anyone.
After taking down a full National Guard division and turning them into his own army of monsters, The Infernal Hulk isn’t stopping there. He’s making his way to the City of Atlantic, where the first mutant, Namor, resides. Even with Bucky, Black Widow, and Wolverine’s warnings, Namor is adamant that he has no worries when it comes to The Infernal Hulk. That is, until the vessel of Eldest makes his grand entrance beneath the surface.

The news is reporting worldwide about the escapade of The Infernal Hulk, and the question everyone is asking is Where in the world is Bruce Banner?! The Avengers are scavenging the planet looking for him to no success. With all of the destruction and devastation happening, the only person who might have a chance at saving the world from the corruptive powers of the Great Old Ones.
The Writing
Continuing the thrilling adventure of The Infernal Hulk, Phillip Kennedy Johnson brings the heat in the second issue. If you thought the first issue was as spectacular as I did, you’re in for a real treat as the stakes are being raised, and the excitement is at an all-time high. In The Infernal Hulk #2, the true power of Eldest in the body of The Hulk is shown when Eldest goes to wake her brother, Ngathil. We get a great look at how commanding and determined The Infernal Hulk really is, which makes me extremely excited to see what Johnson brings in the third issue.
The Art
The artwork of The Infernal Hulk #2 is nothing short of powerful, showcasing the artist’s talents loudly on each page. The tone is set immediately with The Infernal Hulk being the calmness before the storm and thunder clapping the sea to make his way to Atlantis. Nic Klein expertly illustrates the ominous energy before Hulk puts his plan into action, and matches the high-energy tone through the rest of the comic with the help of Kev Walker.
Alongside Klein and Walker is Matthew Wilson, who handles the colors of the comics. With a gorgeous array of dark colors, with vibrancy juxtaposing the darker moments, Wilson is able to create to make the artwork hit even harder than it already does. The artists truly brought the thrilling storyline to life in the most beautiful way.
Final Thoughts
If you haven’t checked out The Infernal Hulk, it’s never too late! The only way to describe the comic is all gas and no breaks. The creative team continues to outdo themselves with The Internal Hulk #2.
