Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #2
Writer – Mikey Levitt
Artist – Louie Joyce
Letterer – Brian Kolek
Cover – Louie Joyce
The Story:
Donatello has more to deal with at Robotics Camp than just your average bully. Donnie has to use all of his skills and his brilliant mind to keep Metalhead and his tech out of Bishop’s hands as she uses the camp as a front to build up her Mechazoid army!

The Writing:
Mikey Levitt does a wonderful job of capturing the voice of the characters. This feels like it is an episode of a Saturday morning cartoon in the best way. The pacing is quick, the action is fun, and the stakes are just high enough to keep a young reader involved and on the edge of their seat.
The Art:
Louie Joyce perfectly brings the frenetic art style of this cartoon series to the page. The over the top nature of this incarnation of TMNT lends itself so well to comics and Joyce is able to deliver a wonderful complement to Levitt’s story. While this is not my favorite art style for the Turtles, it works for the story being told.
Overall Grade: 9/10
This is a very solid TMNT book. While I’m clearly not the target audience, I found myself enjoying the fast pace and fun action overall. If you’re a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan or you have a kid that is, this is an easy recommendation.
