Vanee has taken Kylo to the brink of death and transformed him into his own version of Darth Vader. The answers Kylo seeks lie within his reach, and he must search within himself if he will find what he wishes for so badly.

Creative Team: Charles Soule (WRITER), Luke Ross (ARTIST), Nolan Woodard (COLORS), VC’s Joe Caramagna (LETTERS), and Derrick Chew (COVER).
The Story:
The narrative style Charles opts to go with as Vanee torments and taunts Kylo throughout this issue adds a haunting vibe to this issue. Kylo has gone to hell and back, and he has met someone or something that is even more Vader-obsessed than he is. Charles takes Kylo on a journey, discovering his true power in this issue, setting up our finale where he will finally face his fears or become the leader he has hoped to become. I love how we are teased with what is behind the door to Vader’s Lair and brought back here to Mustafar, as it only feels fitting!
The Art and Letters:
Luke Ross delivers intense panel work as Joe weaves his lettering hauntingly around a scared Kylo. The scene of Vader’s helmet being brought down onto his head is ripped straight from the films, and the imagery is well done as Luke captures the details perfectly. As Kylo is fighting his way through every scar and burn mark that appears is captured as we see a ghoulish Kylo Ren across the panels. Luke’s color work brings life from Mustafar and truly makes it its own character. The grayish pale skin helps show a version of Kylo that is starkly different and one that has been through the worst of these trials. The art team together brings so much depth and life that it raises the stakes.
Final Thoughts:
Star Wars: Legacy of Vader #11 is the perfect setup for an epic conclusion. Kylo Ren has fought his way through the worst the galaxy has had to offer, as Vanee becomes ever so sycophantic. I cannot wait for the big finale!
