In Fantastic Four #6, there are a ton of things going on at one time. Reed Richards, of course is leading the team in to stop the planet’s rotation that is nearing the sun. Reed uses all of his knowledge to get Sue, Ben, and Johnny all on the same page. Just like a family, there are bumps and rifts in the road, when it comes to them communicating.
Even though the team’s communication is not coming together, they all agree when talking to Maria Hill. Maria congratulates them on keeping themselves together, when they are fighting. Maria wants the Fantastic Four and S.H.I.E.L.D. to work together. They both are trying to find a way to beat Doctor Doom as well. So many threats that are going on during the duration of the comic.
THE STORY
What I like about the story is the banter between each of the Fantastic Four members. Even though they all get on each other’s nerves, at the end of the day, they are still family. I also like when Reed Richards talks to all of them, and has this heroic nature about him. He wants everyone to get along, and complete the goal. I also like that the comic is not afraid to show them dealing with multiple threats at a time. Some comics are afraid to do that, and I really enjoy not knowing where everything will end up.
THE ART
As far as the art, I like how there are differences shown between everyone’s powers. I can see Reed’s stretchiness, Sue’s invisibility, Ben’s smashing and ripping through everything. As well as Johnny’s “flame on.” I like to see all of their powers in action, and I’m always rooting for the Fantastic Four to win. It contains that classic Marvel feeling that I really enjoy when reading Marvel Comics. At the end of this issue, there is a message being sent to Sue Storm. I am wondering who it is from, and what that person wants with Sue. Is it Doctor Doom? I’m hoping so, because the battle then, will soon begin.
