The Story

As the Titans are evacuating the world to keep the citizens safe, the JLU find themselves in the depths of Hell. Led by Mr. Terrific, the team is on the search for the devil, Neron, who’s keeping an eye on the fiery chaos of the situation.

With so many different perspectives from the many different heroes of the team, you get a really good look at just how much danger they’re in while in the depths of Hell. Although they’ve lost teammates along the way, their mission still stands clear; they have to get to Neron no matter what.

The Writing

With so much going on at once with so many characters, Mark Waid brings a perfect balance that creates an even flow of events. The energy is at an all time high, and it’s felt throughout the comic, keeping you on the edge of your seat.

There’s so many great characters in Justice League Unlimited #13, well known or lesser known, that are given their time to shine without watering down the others. This goes back to Waid’s ability to give a perfect balance.

The Art

The artists of Justice League Unlimited #13 bring artwork that’s as exciting as the story itself. Dan Mora, who always delivers when his talents are used. Each page is filled with jaw-dropping artwork that keeps your eyes hooked to the comic. Along with Mora, Tamra Bonvillain handles the colors and brings a whole new depth to the comic with her use of vibrant colors juxtaposing the darkest of blacks. Together, the artists bring a comic that’s nothing short of remarkable.
