The Story

After saving Sienna, AKA Red Canary, from, she was taken back to recover from her power explosion. Red Tornado greets her when she wakes up to fill her in on everything that’s happened. Understandably so, Canary is emotional about everything that has happened, especially since she blames herself for the deaths of the people involved. She’s assured by Red Tornado that this isn’t her fault, which seems to help.

Although Sienna has gone through so much, there’s no time to worry about all that’s happened. Sienna and Red Tornado join the rest of the team, who’s ready for a confrontation. Power Girl calls out Red Tornado for all his lies, which he owns up to immediately. Red Tornado has been keeping more than one secret, but for now, they must focus on Black Adam and his ritual.

With the team now on board and understanding of Red Tornado’s fears about Black Adam, they head to Kahndaq to face Black Adam head on.

The Writing

Saladin Ahmed continues the excitement with Justice League Red in the fourth issue. With the team finally on the same page about Black Adam and his plans, their finally all working together towards the same goal. Now with Sienna on the team, maybe that have a fighting chance against Black Adam and stopping his ritual. Maybe.

What I really liked was how many different emotions played out in the comic. With Sienna and her confusion and guilt, or Power Girl and her anger, or Red Tornado and his many different emotions, Ahmed does a fantastic job at balancing it all. I really look forward to what happens in the next issue as we’re left on an exciting, yet concerning, cliffhanger.

The Art

There’s quite a few different artists that worked on Justice League Red #4, and each one brought their own heat to the issue. Clayton Henry draws the artwork that brings the exciting story to life, and keeps your eyes hooked onto each page. Arif Prianto, Hi-Fi, and David Baron worked on the colors, which brought vibrancy and excitement to every page. Lucas Gattoni handled the letters and provided a great flow of dialogue throughout the comic, which wraps the comic in a beautiful bow. Together, the artists created a visually pleasing comic that elevated the storyline.

Final Thoughts

Things are really heating up in Justice League Red #4, which stakes being the highest they’ve been.

Overall Grade – 9/10
