Catch up with Sinister’s Six #1 here!

The Story

Mister Sinister and his team are desperate for a cure of the X-Virus, and they might finally have found something helpful. Sinister sends out his team of mutants including Havoc, Omega Red, Black Cat, Domino, and Lady Fantomex with a new team member, Venom. Together, they have to find information on the X-Virus, which seems a lot harder than one would think. On the mission, they also have to avoid Babels, and avoid any of Revelation’s Seraphim that may be waiting for them.

Of course, any perfect plan can’t go perfectly. Once the team reaches their destination and finds exactly what they’re looking for, the alarms go off. That brings The Seraphim in to attack, led by Revelation’s favorite warrior, Death, formerly known as Wolverine.

The Writing

What I really enjoyed that David Marquez did was give us even more insight into some of the characters of Sinister’s Six, showing what personal trials they face. For example, we see Havoc and Polaris at the beginning of Revelation’s reign, when Polaris was pregnant with Chris. Or how Domino was affected by the X-Virus, and thanks to Sinister’s help, she’s able to go about her life more comfortably. This gives us a great idea of how they ended up where they are, and why they’re working so hard to find a cure. An excellent amount of depth given to us by David Marquez.

The Art

Rafael Loureiro continues to give artwork as exciting as the storyline itself in Sinister’s Six #2. In the comic, there is a vast amount of hard-hitting panels that show just how far some characters are willing to take it. We also get fantastic looks at different powersets that practically pop off the page. Alex Sinclair, who handles the colors, brings vibrancy to the artwork that makes the pages hit that much harder. Together, Loureiro and Sinclair’s work compliments each other perfectly!

Final Thoughts

David Marquez does it again with Sinister’s Six! The characters work well together, which you wouldn’t expect given who the characters are. We get to know the characters even better in this new dystopian Age of Revelation. We also end on a thrilling note that makes me very excited to see what’s next.
