The Story

Where we last left the children, Connor just recieved a house visit from men in suits that were after him. So, his grandmother snuck him out of the house through a secret tunnel, leaving Connor with a million questions. Connor immediately called all of his weapon-wielding friends to meet as they must also be in trouble. Once the kids are together, they’re ambushed by more of these agents and are told to stand down and surrender their weapons.

The weapons themselves weren’t having it and order the children to fight instead. Hesitantly, the kids followed orders until they were visited by a magical guest named Merlin. The weapons told the kids that they could trust Merlin with their lives, and it seems they weren’t lying. Merlin gets the kids to safety, promising to answer all of the questions they have.

Merlin tells the kids that they’re leaving to England, which causes a frenzy of nerves from the children. Of course they can’t just leave to England. They have family, school, their whole lives they can’t leave behind. Merlin proves to them that he has them covered with their families and it becomes very clear that there’s much more going on than the kids realize.

The Writing

Tom Taylor, the writer of C.O.R.T.: Children of the Round Table #3, continues the exciting tale of the children being chosen in heroic roles they are just learn about. As the children learn about their new roles, there’s new surprises at every turn. Taylor keeps you on your toes as you really don’t know what can happen next. With how much happened in the last few pages, I find myself very excited for the next issue to drop!

The Art

Daniele Di Nicuolo and Rain Beredo are the artists of C.O.R.D.: Children of the Round Table #3 and easily matches the art with the excitement of the storyline. With great action scenes, unexpected power sets revealed, and magical elements, Daniele Di Nicuolo sticks the landing with bringing those panels to life. Rain Beredo brings even more heat with their work on the colors, working with juxtaposing vibrant colors that makes the art pop off the page. Together, they bring artwork that matches the energy of the story, adding to the excitement of the comic.

Final Thoughts

C.O.R.D.: Children of the Round Table #3 continues the excitement of the first two issues and broadens this new world even more. The creative team continues to impress with this run!

Overall Grade – 9/10
