The finale of our travel through time and history with Barry Allen comes to an end as he catches us up to this very moment in time which he reminding us how history is written by its winners and heroes never truly die.

Creative Team: Mark Waid (WRITER), Tony S. Daniel (ARTIST), Hayden Sherman (ARTIST), Hi-Fi (COLORIST), Triona Farrell (COLORIST), Chris Samnee (COVER), and Giovanna Niro (COVER).
The Story:
It’s hard not to get lost in Mark’s spell as he poetically lays out the final piece to our history of the DC Universe. We enter the time in which I got back into comics and to see Flashpoint, the New 52, and even teases of what lies ahead with the DC All-In worlds brought about excitement and a sense of wonder as though I did not know the history myself.
It is a testament to how good Marks writing is that he can make something familiar still seem new and exciting. They don’t shy away from the weirder times such as the Batman Who Laughs or various iterations of either Wonder Woman Dying or various members take over Batman’s cowl. It’s always great to get are fresher before the next big event takes place and this puts a nice finishing touch on this.
The Art and Letters:
Hayden, Hi-Fi, Tony, and Triona do a great job at weaving through the timeline and once again making the relatively recent history still seem new and fresh. I loved their various takes and details on the suits that I grew into seeing and reading with Wally, Batman, and all of the others. There was not a single detail missed throughout, and each generation and time period change brought about a different flair of energy to it. The team worked hard and poured their hearts into this final issue, and captured every detail and easter-egg to perfection.
Final Thoughts:
As we finish up with The New History of the DC Universe, this final issue puts an exclamation point on an excellent series. Every major event and every minute detail was captured by the teams who worked hard to catch new and old readers alike up on the history of our beloved DC Universe. I will be referencing these books for years to come!
Overall Grade: 10/10
