Star Wars: Legacy of Vader #9 – Who Will Be The Leader?

Hello there! Padawan J here, the resident Star Wars expert from the ODPH! This week I’m going to be reviewing the 9th issue of Star Wars: Legacy of Vader #9 from Marvel Comics!

Kylo Ren is on a journey to explore his grandfather’s history and just what made him tick. However he’s run into some unexpected obstacles recently. Most notably he’s met Tava Ren, who used to be the leader of the Knights of Ren. So just what is going to happen next? Let’s jump into it!

Star Wars: Legacy of Vader #9 by Charles Soule (Writer), Stefano Raffaele (Artist), Nolan Woodard (Color Artist) & VC’s Joe Caramanga (Letterer) is a compelling look at Kylo Ren and a very great issue.

The Story

Charles Soule provides another fantastic story in this issue, that’s also very intriguing to read. We get a real good look at just who exactly Tava Ren is and a good look at a bit of her past as well. She’s a very intriguing character, and one I can’t wait to see more of.

Things kick off in spectacular fashion and conclude in much the same way, and it provides for a fast paced story that is sure to leave readers wanting more. Especially with the tease for what’s coming in issue 10. The Vader aspect of things has taken a little bit of a backseat the last few issues, but you can be sure that won’t be the case in the next issue.

The Artwork

Stefano Raffaele & Nolan Woodard really do a great job with the art in this issue. As always, the characters look spectacular. Also their environments are some of the best in comics today. It really does a good job of looking just like so many of the people and ships we’ve come to know over the last decade.

FINAL POINT: A great story together with fantastic artwork make this an issue that you’re not going to want to skip. Charles Soule continues to deliver a spectacular story that delivers with each issue.

Overall Grade: 9.0/10
