Day 2 of New York Comic Con just wrapped and there are many stories to recap. Coming off an electric first day, the Javits Center in New York City was buzzing. More fans entered the building to celebrate their fandoms. They were rewarded with huge news in the world of comics. It capped off with one of the most energized crowd in NYCC history celebrating two elements of pop culture.

Before breaking down that historic panel, there was one that set a high pace for the rest of the panels. DC Comics “Gotham City” panel showcased the world of Batman.
READ ABOUT DAY 1!
In the stores now, there are two books making waves that were featured on this panel. “Batman” by Matt Fraction & Jorge Jimenez along with “Absolute Batman” by Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta led the talk with more surprises following suit.
Both books had members of their creative teams in attendance. Jimenez was extremely gracious to the fans and fellow creators on his Bat Journey. He has been the penciler of Batman since 2020. His comments amplified the mood along with fellow panelists Babs Tarr & Tini Howard. They have “Sirens: Love Hurts” releasing on DC Black Label in February 2026.
Snyder and Dragotta entertained fans while talking up their series. They unveiled a new addition to the line coming off this past week’s “Absolute Batman #13”. “Absolute Catwoman” by Snyder, Che Grayson and Bengal was announced for a six-issue run in 2026. The last new announcement was for “Harley and Ivy: Life & Crimes” debuting in November. It was a great follow-up to Day 1’s “Vertigo” panel.

Other publishers took notice and made splashes on the fandoms. One of which being IDW Publishing. They held their “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: What’s next for the Heroes in a Half-Shell” panel. The fandom showed up in droves to hear about their current line-up.

Andrew Joustra, Sarah Myer, Tim Seely, Jake Thomas and Dan Watters made up the panel of creators. They discussed their current projects along with celebrating their fandom. It was a great addition to the current movement and bright future of new books in this universe.

MARVEL TAKES THE WIN FOR DAY 2!
Marvel Comics came with two incredible panels. Each made monster waves with fans heading into the weekend. Their “X-Men” panel unloaded a new line-up of series following the “Age of Revelation” storyline. Considering the impact of this event, the reset piqued interest into the fate of the mutants. Editor Tom Brevoort emphasized about a graphic similar to “Avengers: Initiative”. What could this mean for the X-Men future?
That question was left unanswered. In its’ place were the previously mentioned new books. “Inglorious X-Force”, “Rogue”, “Wade Wilson” Deadpool” & “Strom: Earth’s Mightiest Mutant” lead the pack. It was announced more titles were coming but had to wait until the “Revelation” before announcing them. As high energy as this panel was, it did not hold a candle to the closing panel of the night.

Mass Appeal is teaming up with Marvel for “Legend has It.” The fusion of hip-hop & comics carried an energy all its’ own. Rob Markman welcomed Hip Hop Legends like NAS, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, Slick Rick, De La Soul & DJ Premier to the stage. The crowd was absolutely energetic for this panel.
There was a buzz in this room unlike anything else fans have seen recently. Fans witnessed some art from the book while hearing how important hip-hop has been to the panel. There couldn’t be a better moment to close the show out with.
