Doctor Aphra: Chaos Agent #4 – A Different Kind of Job

Published:

Hello there! Padawan J here, the resident Star Wars expert from the ODPH! And this week I’m going to be reviewing the 4th issue of Doctor Aphra: Chaos Agent from Marvel Comics!

Doctor Aphra has been tasked to work with the New Republic finding artifacts! In the first couple of issues she’s worked with Han Solo & Luke Skywalker! Now she’s alongside Chewbacca to provide some security! Should be easy right? Let’s jump into it!

Star Wars: Doctor Aphra: Chaos Agent #4 by Cherish Chen (Writer), Kieron McKeown (Artist), Mike Atiyeh (Color Artist), VC’s Joe Caramagna (Letterer) is a fun issue that is a nice change of pace from what you might expect from a Star Wars comic.

The Story

Doctor Aphra & Chewbacca find themselves on the planet Taisun Isle protecting a crown Prince on the eve of his coronation as King! Despite things going pretty simply so far, it doesn’t last. It’s a great story that is a nice change of pace from what you might expect. There’s action, laughs and a twist I didn’t see coming.

MORE DOCTOR APRHA!

That twist should be interesting to see play out in the next issue. Will it be explosive? Will there be a huge fight? Time will tell, but it’s sure to be fun to read.

The Art!

Kieron McKeown & Mike Atiyeh both do a great job with the artwork in this issue. The color is really vibrant and jumped out to me when I was reading the issue. Also the fight sequence in the issue was impeccably drawn & it’s a fight I would like to see again sometime!

FINAL POINT: It’s a fun issue without any galaxy wide stakes at risk. If you’re looking for something that’s not exactly the highest of stakes, this is the issue for you.

OVERALL GRADE: 7.0/10
