This is the Captain America we all know & love, but its from a time period we haven’t seen much of before. Cap has just woken up from his frozen slumber, and said NO to an invitation to join the Avengers! He has however joined up with the new Howling Commandos to go to Latveria’s new “leader” Victor Von Doom! Just how will this meeting go? Let’s jump into it!

Captain America #3 by Chip Zdarsky (Writer), Valerio Schitti (Artist), Frank Martin (Color Artist) & VC’s Joe Caramanga (Letterer) is another tremendous entry into one of the best series Marvel currently has going.

The Story

Chip Zdarsky’s incredible writing is on full display in this issue, and is sure to be a pleasure to read for all fans. The highlight of the issue is the meeting between Captain America & Doctor Doom. It’s like watching a boxing match between two former champions go at it. That’s where this issue really excels and stands out. The action sequences are great, and compliment the story so well. But watching Cap & Doom have a philosophical discussion is the true highlight.

The Artwork

Valerio Schitti & Frank Martin really do an incredible job from start to finish. The artwork & colors have such a classic look to them that this feels like a comic I’ve had for a while, but forgot that I had it. The color choice is fantastic, and the artwork is just so top notch. If you see Valerio Schitti or Frank Martin are doing the artwork, buy the issue ASAP!

Overall Grade: 9.0/10

FINAL POINT: It’s only 3 issues in but already this series is one that you don’t want to miss. Chip Zdarsky is writing an absolute masterclass of a story, and Valerio Schitti & Frank Martin are right there alongside Chip with some of the best artwork you’ll see this week! This issue is absolutely a can’t miss issue!
