The Story:

Sam takes us off on a wild adventure in this issue that hops dimensions, spaces, countries, and right into some shocking twists. The team dynamic is perhaps the best part about this series right now as they don’t quite all fit together quite yet but, you can see the pieces falling into place. Their many personalities are meshing together in fun and eventful ways that are causing this run to stand out with fresh fun ideas. Everytime I thought I knew where this issue woul go, another surprise would be thrown in such as a certain red Symbiote who has now found himself aligned with the team and Laura giving me some bat sh*t insane vibes. Joe’s giving voice to each character and crafting the fun adventure through lettering and making this issue all out fun insanity.

The Art:

Ton and Rain are working hand in hand to add life to the insanity of this issue. The look and detail on Laura’s face when she turned around, all smiles, sent chills down my spine as the smile was drawn wide as though she was a certain character from Gotham, and her skin almost turned a ghoulish color. These details in the art bring life to this story and highlight the intense action we are met with in just about every panel. Aside from the action, they do a great job at bringing emotion into the faces of our team and by showing Bruce trapped within the Hulk, who, by the way, is sporting a solid full head of hair here!

Final Thoughts:

The New Avengers #3 keeps on giving in terms of surprises and all-out action sequences. Each character is full of vibrant personality in their own way that fits the tone of this new team and continues to draw me into the story. This is the Avengers in a way you have never seen before, with unexpected alliances!
