The Story & Writing

Possessed by the Lady in White, Psylocke joins her childhood best friend and the rest of Mitsuki’s yokai to take down the Tokyo branch of The Hand. Mitsuki says that they’ll destroy this branch and then remake it in their own image. Psylocke attacks anyone who isn’t innocent, which includes almost everyone they come into contact with. Almost everyone.

John Greycrow and Devon followed a clue an ended up at the same branch of The Hand, completely unaware that it’s about to be taken over by Mitsuki’s team of terror.

Alyssa Wong has been so consistent with the quality of Psylocke throughout the entire run. Not once did the overall story fall short, giving Kwannon a thrilling story through and through. The ending was handled perfectly, and felt very satisfying for the story. I really hope to see Wong continue to write for Psylocke, as I feel she really understood the character, and was able to see Kwannon’s trauma and use it to her advantage.

The Art

This is easily the best artwork of the entire run, and that’s all thanks to Vincenzo Carratú, Fer Sifuentes-Sujo, and Ariana Maher. There’s so much action throughout the comic, and it’s counteracted with the transition of going back and forth from Kwannon’s mind. Along with that, we see Kwannon in her new white with pink accents look, a side effect of being possessed by the Lady in White, and I have to agree with John Greycrow, it’s absolutely a good look.

I’d say if you want to get a good idea at how great the artwork inside Psylocke #10 is, just look at the cover. Mahmud Asrar and Matthew Wilson nailed the beauty of the comic with the cover, making this the best cover of the entire run, in my honest opinion.

Final Thoughts

I’m disappointed to see the run end, but happy with how it ended. I really hope Alyssa Wong continues to write for Psylocke, because I could’ve read so many issues of this run. Great job to the entire creative team for this banger of a run!
