Jeff is giving immense Suicide Squad vibes in this unique backstory-filled issue. He has found a way to make Flash’s Rogue Gallery injected with a fresh and intriguing origin as perhaps the most shocking thing to me is how Barry Allen is a scientist who creates them. The middle of this issue alludes to something happening in the past with another famous character which has me wondering how many threads that are being laid out will come into play.

Even more shocking is how Allen is working with Elenor Thawne. The name and gender may have changed, but no matter what, the name will live up to what we have all come to expect. This story has continued to find a way to grip me and become captivating bringing me to the edge of my seat.

Robles and Lucas do an incredible job with the character details in this issue. Barry Allen, as we meet him, is nothing but smiles and his traditional blonde hair; however, there is an icy feeling to his smile and the way they have detailed him that is just enough to make us feel something is off. The duo does the same with Thawne, as half her face is hidden, and yet they add the icy feeling to her, bringing depth to more than just what we know about Thawne.

The art team invokes a feeling of empathy towards the Rogues as well and Jeff and team give us time with them before the lab. Once we enter the lab, Nick and Adriano plant a lot of details and shadow figures in the background that fill us with a sense of wonder.

Absolute Flash #6 takes us into the backstory for the Rogues as we see how they came to be and fills us with a sense of intrigue and dread at just what is happening with the government blacksite. It injects new life into this thrilling run, immediately bringing me to the edge of my seat with the shocking ending.
