Hello there! Padawan J here, the resident Star Wars expert from the ODPH! This week, I’m going to be reviewing the 3rd issue of Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion from Marvel Comics!

Miles Morales has been transported from the main comics universe of Earth 616 to Earth 6160! But he didn’t come alone, because his baby sister Billie came over before he did! Now it’s a race against time to get her back and try to get home! So let’s jump into it!

Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion #3 by Deniz Camp & Cody Ziglar (Writers), Jonas Scharf (Artist), Edgar Delgado (Color Artist), VC’s Cory Petit (Letterer) is a very good issue that continues to build momentum!

The Story

Deniz Camp & Cody Ziglar continue to tell a compelling story that has a lot of interesting twists throughout the issue. Miles has eluded the watchful eye Janet Van Dyne & Hank Pym and is on his own in Japan!

He’s still looking for his sister. His sister meanwhile is in the hands of someone from the Maker’s Council, which isn’t good, but that’s not the interesting part.

The interesting part is the little substory that gets a mention about how certain memories and feelings from Miles original universe are coming back to him.

Let’s not forget he isn’t from the 616 universe, he’s from the ORIGINAL Ultimates universe which was Earth 1610. Whether we’ll see some old faces from Miles past show up is yet to be seen, but it has the potential to be very interesting to watch it play out!

The Artwork

Jonas Scharf & Edgar Delgado really did a fantastic job with the artwork in this issue. Each panel has such a unique color layout to it, and everything is just immaculately detailed. The color is what really stood out to me, because it was so different and unique from what I’ve seen in the rest of the comics in this universe that I couldn’t help but take notice.

FINAL POINT: The series continues to build momentum in the issue and it’s getting continuously more and more interesting. The story from Deniz & Cody is great, and the artwork from Jonas & Edgar is some of the most beautiful you’ll ever see.

Overall Grade: 9/10
