The Story:

Marc’s experience as a Lawyer are showing as he perfectly offers up evidence that both Logan was the killer of Peter’s parents while also leaving seeds of doubt that perhaps not everything is as it seems here.

This facet of the story is the driving force between their relationship or lack there of at the moment and sucks you in instantly. Truly not having any idea where the story is headed is a testament to how well he is weaving plot threads together. It introduces compelling arguments to both sides while moving the overall plot forward.

This time-hopping adventure they seem to be on keeps my heart racing, as in this issue, pulling from the lore of the savage land is a treat for long-time X-Men fans. While Peter may be heavily wounded, don’t worry he still has his charm and humor in this issue as we don’t have any ideas what danger lies ahead next.

The Art:

From the get-go, we are met with a treat as there is a ton of detail woven into the background by Kaare, who leaves no blade of grass or element of Savage Land left out. I don’t know if I am ready to see Wolverine come riding in like Gandalf on a Triceratops, but this was the highlight of the issue for me.

Speaking of the background, the coloring of the panels that show these two heroes in the forefront, while their past battle looms large behind them, shines brightly, illuminating the panel and pages. The art is highlighting the brutality of these intense battles, with issue 3 being no different.

Final Thoughts:

Spider-Man & Wolverine #3 has taken us on a windy thrill ride as the moments we catch our breath between intense fighting for their lives, the heroes are at odds, leaving us deep into a compelling mystery that pays respect to Wolverine’s history and Peter’s will to never quit.

Overall Grade: 10/10
