The Story:
Matt – This is a massive issue, and it only feels right that Dan Jurgens be the one to take it on. The way he intertwines the story and an alternate reality immerses me into this world, almost making me forget what was happening.
There are a ton of deep cuts and homages to the long and rich history of Superman throughout this. Dan does an excellent job catching the reader up on his past and some of Superman’s most important battles without you having to have read them but, at the same time catching you though to want to read them. This story is full of intense action and even more full of heart and heroism. Through and through it is an excellent issue culminating in an outstanding finish.
There is a lot of lettering needing to get done within this massive book, and Dave stands tall to the task. Weaving words and letters around intense destruction and action sequences, bringing the story to life. He seamlessly weaves Dan’s story into the panels, crafting an incredible tale.
Megan – There’s so many good things to say about Superman Treasury 2025: A Hero for All #1, and it’s all thanks to Dan Jurgens, who wrote the comic. The book has so many twists and turns, that you’ll be sitting on the edge of your seat the entire read.
What I really appreciated was how many deep cuts to Superman the comic had, like Lady Maxima for example. It really felt like such a great dedication to Superman, and who he is as a hero. Like Superman, the comic is full of heart, full of goodness, and shows you exactly what kind of hero Superman is.
The Art:
Matt – There are so many insanely gorgeous sequences of Superman flying high in his classic pose that any one of them should be made into a poster and hung all over everyone’s walls. Bruno, Adriano, and Caid did an outstanding job on the detailing and artwork throughout this book. There is a lot of detail woven into the background of Metropolis as it is under duress and being destroyed. The way that Superman’s lasers beam from his eyes, or even our various heroes, gives them their moments to shine.
One page in particular got me hyped and teary-eyed. There is a scene with Superman and every hero standing at his side that could make even the Grinch’s heart grow three more sizes. Coloring-wise wise this issue is also full of life and color. The reds and blues fly high for more, and it all works beautifully.
Megan – The artists of Superman Treasury 2025 – A Hero for All #1 truly knocked it out of the park with every single page, leaving none lacking in quality. With the most vibrant of colors, juxtaposing the amount of details the artists give each panel, it’s clear the artists cooked and they cooked hard. There were some pages that were absolutely stunning that really captured the magic that is Superman, all thanks to the incredibly talented artists that worked on this comic.
Overall Grade: 10/10
Matt – 10/10. If you needed one book to bring your excitement for Superman’s release in theaters, then let Superman Treasury 2025 be the one. It is packed full of action and heart that will leave you full of the joy and hope that the world needs right now. This is what Superman is all about.
Megan – 10/10. There is no better way to get excited for the upcoming Superman movie than checking this comic out. This is the ultimate Superman comic for anyone, no matter if you’re a huge Superman fan, or new to the hero.
