The Story and Writing
Harley Quinn is at home taking a shower when an unexpected intruder breaks into her place, causing a ruckus. After some back and forth, Harley realizes that it’s Selina Kyle, AKA Catwoman, looking for some assistance in a mission. Selina wants to hire Harley to help her steal what she calls an invaluable artifact from a nightclub called Lunaria. Harley immediately makes a call to none other than Pamela Isley, AKA Poison Ivy, as she has been researching Lunaria for a while and knows there’s something very off about the place.
With all three women in agreement, it’s time for them to carry out their plan to get to the invaluable artifact. But can it be that easy?
In Gotham City Sirens: Unfit for Orbit #1, Leah Williams writes a fun team up between three characters that have excellent chemistry together. The dialogue and the story felt very authentic to each character, and had some great back and forth between the new team. I’m really interested to see where this goes, as Williams left us on a very intriguing cliffhanger. The writer already has me hooked to the story!
The Art
The whole comic has a cool nightclub feel to it with contrasting vibrant colors, which I really enjoyed. The artist, Haining, went out of their way to make you love every single panel as each page is a work of art. Haining is accompanied by Ivan Plascencia, who handles the colors of Gotham City Sirens: Unfit to Orbit #1. Both artists really set the tone for the comic and brought a new depth to the storyline.
Overall Grade – 9.1/10

i loved the first issue. It already has me not wanting this to be only a 5 issue series. This is the best Poison Ivy in a LONG time. Great to see her { and Catwoman too} as true villains. Thepanel with Poison Ivy using her magic dust was fantastic. Can’t wait for issue #2. Glad they are every week.
