The Story:

Al is starting to make sense of things in this issue as we get some answers as to what exactly is going on with Abin Sur. Hal is starting to lose control a bit as he and Jo start to come to blows, which is breaking the bit of stalemate they had found themselves in. The issue ends in a bit of a cliffhanger, introducing a new character that leaves us with an uneasy feeling. I am enjoying how Lucas brings a calm and deadpan tone to Abin’s voice in his lettering as well and crafting the words to work with the beautiful artwork.

The Artwork:

Jahnoy continues to produce incredible artwork with the colors and excellent panel work. There is a page that is extremely well done through the use of space and detail, broken up in a circular pattern over time. Showcasing Jo’s abilities in an array of green light and the rays bursting off of her shows a lot of control and detail.

Final Thoughts:

Absolute Green Lantern #4 has begun answering the many questions we had been asking ourselves to this point. The action and rich history of the Lanterns are coming out in a gorgeous array of art and storytelling.

Overall Grade: 9/10
