The Big Finale:

Hickman pulls out of the tops in this final issue and holds absolutely nothing back! Mr. Sinister being the catalyst behind all of the destruction is still such a clever idea but, he takes it up to an entirely new level. Having a Xenomorph with various powers crawl out of one of Sinister’s bodies was a revolting idea and was not something that I saw him doing at all.

However, the shock does not stop there because if you have ever wondered what a symbiote Xenomorph would be like then this issue is for you. Like I said Jonathan pulls out some stellar tricks from his sleeve to deliver a somber and effective ending to this mini-series.

The Artwork:

Esad and Ive also do not hold back in terms of body horror that the Alien franchise is so well known for here. Wolverine has moments of being torn up in battle and the chunks ripped from his flesh are done with extraordinary detail. The moment a Xenomorph pulls itself out of Mr. Sinester’s body was hard to look at and the bright red body matched with the horrifying smile was intense. There we a lot of moments done very well throughout this issue.

The end has perhaps the most disturbing artwork in my opinion as a holographic image of Tony Stark appears and all I could think of was it was a melting face of Zordon. I have no idea why it left a lasting impression on me the way that it did but, that image will be staying with me for a while.

Final Thoughts:

Aliens Vs. Avengers wrap up in such a gross and satisfying way. The body horror fits the franchise themes of horror while our heroes manage to come out on top in the end meshing these two universes together in a way that will have fans of both satisfied and wanting more.

Overall Grade: 10/10
