The Story (VIGILANTE🙂

I am continuing to love how Tim is capturing Vigilante in this issue. Even more I am loving how the “villains” are being written as well. All around everyone is just dumb but, Tim crafts it in a clever and fun way. The comedic elements continue to hit such as when Vigilante is so painfully my younger self that even when a girl says they want to be with him he still cannot believe it for himself.

The Art (VIGILANTE:)

Mitch has had to have studied DJ Pauly D and Betty White if they ran an underground mob life. The art enhances the amount of absurdness this run continues to deliver. One of the more impressive things is when Vigilante is knocked out he manages to create the blurred look we would see with a camera lens and bring that to the page in an impressive array of art and colors. His work on this cover also brings about hilarious vibes turning the duo into robots and each cover delivers a new fun theme.

The Story (EAGLEY:)

Rex has captured the John Cena Peacemaker essence completely. As the story drives forward and the circumstances are very dire, he has perfect comedic timing in this portion of the story. There are many memorable story elements such as Eagley bringing someone’s face to Chris, another Chris being willing to get naked too, and of course, the quips as Peacemaker manages to dismantle the League of Shadows. However, we get lured into a false sense of fun as the end of this issue leaves us with that “OH CRAP” moment.

The Art (EAGLEY:)

Matteo and John deliver the blood and action in this issue upping their game from the previous issues. Seeing Eagley swoop into action and rip off someone’s face was incredibly gnarly and the look on Peacemaker’s face captured the moment. The deaths are very creative and they do not shy away from the amount of blood shown either. This issue is not for those who have a weak stomach. Pat’s lettering and the way the lettering subtly changes between issues as the stories change is something that should not be overlooked amongst the chaos of this issue.

Overall Grade: 10/10

Peacemaker Presents: Vigilante/Eagley Double Feature #3 continues to deliver grotesque action along with well-timed moments of humor. You go from looking away to laughing throughout issue 3. With two issues left I don’t think I am ready nor do I have any clue how this will end!
