When it comes to the Fantastic Four, they always talk about family. In this specific run, this is focusing on the lovable Ben Grimm. Grimm seems to still be working with his team, Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm. He is fighting monsters and bad guys. All of the sudden, his past is coming back to him.

This is an interesting take on Ben Grimm, because as you read,  it becomes apparent behind the rock structure he has, there is a heart. A heart that cares about his team, and also people from his past. A man named Marty Flynn comes to ask Grimm for help.

Marty pleads and says that his sister’s Shelly’s child has gone missing. She now goes by the last name Washington. Ben then quickly changes his mind, and wants to help find the missing child.

Marty explains all the particulars, and Ben immediately starts to go to work. He quickly finds information and has caused quite the property damage that he walks into. Suddenly towards the end, someone tips off someone who we don’t expect. It is Kingpin on the other side of the line.  This issue has me on the edge of my seat. So many questions that need to be answered. I like how they humanize Ben Grimm, and in this specific issue I like when he has his trench coat on and his hat.  I also wonder if we will see what Shelly and Ben’s relationship was when they were children. As well as if Ben can actually find Shelly’s child.

I love the art, a fantastic and specific look at how Ben looks. It also gives details in each panel about exactly what is going on. When it comes to when Ben destroys things, the reader can see the cracks in the concrete, and the window that is broken.  The art yet again, has that classic Marvel look that I enjoy so much and look forward to seeing in each comic.

Overall Grade: 10/10.
