Hello there! Padawan J here, the resident Star Wars expert from the ODPH! And this week I’m going to be reviewing the 4th issue of Star Wars: The High Republic: Fear of the Jedi #4 from Marvel Comics!

Firstly, the Battle of Eriadu is in full swing, and that includes in the space above the planet! Secondly, our heroes are fighting a battle on multiple fronts, and that includes some monsters!

Star Wars: The High Republic: Fear of the Jedi #4 by Cavan Scott (Writer), Marika Cresta (Artist), Jim Campbell (Colorist), VC’s Ariana Maher (Letterer) is a great issue that really stands out from the other Star Wars comics.

The Story

Cavan Scott is a master storyteller, and that ability is on full display in this issue. Undoubtedly, it’s a story that stands out from other Star Wars issue’s. There’s a lot of Star Wars out right now, and to have the ability to be so unique is commendable.

Unquestionably the high point of the story is just how psychological it is. Unlike other Star Wars stories, this one isn’t all fighting and “diplomatic negotiations”. Without a doubt the unique approach to the story is the highlight for the series.

The Artwork

With such a unique story, the artwork has to be just as memorable. Without a doubt Marika Cresta & Jim Campbell rise to the task. The artwork is top notch, and in particular the space sequences. This is definitely a team I would like to see together more going forward.

FINAL POINT: A truly unique story, mixed together with memorable artwork make this an issue you do NOT want to miss this week!

Overall Grade: 8.8/10
