Free Comic Book Day 2025: What To Expect

Come one, come all and welcome to Free Comic Day 2025. On May 3rd, every year it is the time for people to run to their local comic shop and pick up some comics. Most of the local comic shops have a variety of publishers, from Marvel, to BOOM! Studios that have interesting comics to pick up. There is also an opportunity to get some comics that the comic stores are giving out on that day.  Here are some things to look forward to.  Here are the top four things that I am excited to read on Saturday. 

1. DC All In: Special Edition #1

Publisher: DC

Everyone loves Superman, so this special edition of Superman gives an introduction into the All In Universe. Join DC in reading all about Superman, this edition is created by Dan Slott and Jeff Albuqurque. There is also a bonus story that is included by Jeff Lemire and Giuseppe Camuncoli.

2. Fantastic Four/X-Men #1

Publisher: Marvel

With everyone getting geared up for the Fantastic Four: First Steps film, this a good way to get familiar with our beloved first family.  Start with this first issue that gives a glimpse into the Fantastic Four and also there is a story on the X-Men.  The Fantastic Four is from Ryan North and Humberto Ramos.  With the X-Men story, it is from Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing. 

3. Thundercats/ The Powerpuff Girls #1

Publisher: Dynamite 

The Thundercats and The Powerpuff Girls are crossing over in this issue. I think this might be the most interesting premise out of all of them.  Find out what happens in this story created by Paulina Ganucheau and Coleman Engle.

4. Star Wars #1

Publisher: Marvel

This issue stars three tales that is a revamped version of Legacy of Vader, Jedi Knights, and an original Star Wars story. This is all created by Alex Segura and Phil Noto. I can’t wait for people to get their hands on this, so they can jump right into a Star Wars story. 

There is the top four comics that everyone needs to check out.  Please go and support your local comic book shop this Saturday. Tons of comics that are available for purchase, and there are many events going on this day. Whether you are a seasoned comic reader or just getting into comics, this is going to be a fun and fantastic day to celebrate all things comics.
