The Art and Letters:
I want to start with the cover which is perhaps the best yet in this series. A horrifying demon swallowing Duncan is a great taste of what is to come within the issue. There is a great amount of detail within the teeth and texture of its eyeless face that left me in awe and excitement before even opening this issue up.
The three put their minds together and create yet another incredible creature with Pennycorn. Every issue is something more amazing crafted up bringing more adventure and life to the story. They also draw Duncan in a different light than we have seen as he has held onto his dark secret and it has weighed on him heavily. The artwork continues to level up. Adding to that is Shawn doing things with the letters working into the art in dramatic fashion.
The Story:
DWJ is telling so much about what happened to Duncan without saying anything at all. The lengths that this story is going to develop this darkness and realness is incredible. I’m continuing to enjoy how the nightmares we are afraid of are nothing to fear and instead can help us in our time of need. This issue also gives us a backstory of Pigface and how he found our realm. I’d be lying if I said i was not excited for his demise and how his villainy has been built up.
Overall Grade: 10/10
The Moon is Following Us continues to level up storywise. Things get darker and the character development is top-tier as the art and action continue to build into this beautiful yet haunting story. Issue 8 is another breathtaking entry into this tale!
