Published:

When Magneto died he caused the world to lose power. As people and mutants alike began to die, there were a few who tried to save as many as possible. Wolverine was one of them. However, as things took a quick and dark turn, a rescue mission quickly turned to a revenge plan. Years later he’s still fighting his enemies, including an all too familiar nemesis. The Story for Issue 5 of WOLVERINE Revenge

Revenge is not the jedi way, however for mutants, it definitely is. Despite the fact it never seems to bring peace. WOLVERINE Revenge #5 wraps up by coming full circle. We kick off with a face to face against Sabretooth. However, he ain’t as good as he once was, but he came prepared nonetheless. He has someone with him who throws a hell of a fastball special, and wants some revenge of his own. As all hell literally breaks lose, the final chaos then wraps up with a line that left me laughing.

The Art

A fastball special, a slew of demons, and the reflection of an old man Logan in the eye of his enemy. The art was fantastic throughout this run, and this issue. Whether we were in a flashback or a different dimension, the colors and details were all beautiful. This was the art you come to expect and love in any fantastic Wolverine story. Every page sucked you in and moved the story along perfectly. With a lot of violence and emotion, of course.

Overall Grade: 9/10

WOLVERINE Revenge kicked off with Logan on a dinosaur, and wrapped up with him….no spoilers… making me laugh. However, in between it all there was a lot of shocking deaths, and a hell of a lot of revenge. This story lived up to its title, and brought it all full circle in this 5th issue. Once again proving that Logan is the best at what he does, but what he does best isn’t very nice. If you’re a Wolvie fan, then WOLVERINE Revenge is an absolute must grab. I have to give this issue 9 out of 10 cigars, bub.
