Peacemaker Presents: The Vigilante Eagly Double Feature #1: Peacemaker is a chill kind of guy, he enjoys the finer things in life such as killing bad guys, hanging with his best bro, and well, other things. However, even the most chill guys need a vacation once in a while which is where things go wrong for our beloved deliver of peace.

The Story:

Both Tim and Rex weave their stories together seamlessly, so much so that we don’t even recognize that this is a two-part issue. I love how Tim captures Vigilante, with his story being one primarily of how they are best bros and we get his point of view on their relationship. Another thing is how off the wall Vigilante is and Tim is going all out.

Rex follows it up with a fun trip and perhaps too much information that should ever be shared on a plane. They manage to leave us on a hook at the end of this issue after fully sucking us in.

The Art:

This entire art team brings so much high-intensity graphic action it kicks some serious ass. Mitch dials up Vigilante’s brutality in the first part with his unique style. The way he weaves his coloring in with blood against the dark green suit and then hits us with some extremely realistic-looking artwork when we see him mask off.

John and Matteo kick their parts off with the brutal killing of lizard Nazis and anytime we see a Nazi die violently is a plus in my book but, it is how they use Eagly in their fighting and action sequences that stand out to me. Pat adds to the hilarity with the lettering and with James Gunn as a consultant does a wonderous job capturing what I hear as John Cena’s voice in my head.

Overall Grade: 9.5/10

This first double-feature issue is immensely fun, and the action is fast-paced and intense. Peacemaker and Vigilante are captured so well and their personalities are shining brightly through the page in this issue. I cannot wait for more from this crew!
