Last we saw Laura she had epically teamed up with Daredevil, and together they kicked some mutant hating ass, and saved some lives. As she finally gets a moment of peace, an unexpected visitor shows up: Bucky Barnes.

The Story for Issue 4

Bucky is on a mission and needs Laura’s help. While she seems reluctant, he knows just how to convince her. He’s going after someone who has done terrible things to mutants. Something Laura Kinney will never stand for. As they embark on what will undoubtedly be another epic adventure, they of course, hit a bump in the road on their road trip. Only to then sniff out a lead, and face some even bigger bumps.

The Art

From a two page road trip, to some absolutely killer fight scenes, the art was perfect from beginning to end. Whether the focus is on a handshake or an action scene with a croc flying, it was all perfectly detailed and beautifully colored. While Laura is a Wolverine, she’s a bit more graceful than Logan. That shows in every kick, SNIKT, leap, or punch she throws. Yet, her fierceness and strength are just as clear as well. She is truly the best at what she does, and I love watching her do it.

Overall Grade: 9/10

From the Winter Soldier and X23, to ‘The Revolution’ and ‘Wolverine.’ Bucky and Laura make a hell of a good team. While, one may be over 100 years old, and the other barely an adult, they have a lot in common. Including their hatred for bigotry and ignorance. Eighty years later and Bucky is still fighting the same fight. However, it’s sadly a fight that seems to never end, and one that rarely leaves you with a ‘thank you.’

Whether fighting side by side, or simply discussing their soda preference, Bucky and Laura are a team up that’s not just badass, but also incredibly entertaining. Part 1 of their journey set the course and set up, what can only be a massive part 2. So make sure to grab this issue, and be ready for the next. SNIKT!
