The Story:

Saladin does a fantastic job making us feel the weight of Matt’s decision and the burden he must carry as this story comes to a head. The way he grasps not only Matt as Daredevil but his relationship with his faith and with Foggy shows true understanding of this character. We even get some threads for the future as this issue wraps up with Elektra and now we are left wondering where Fisk is.

The Art and Letters:

Aaron and Jesus bring about stand-out artwork in this issue whether it was Bullseye missing his arm, Daredevil flying high above the streets, or Wrath gripping his victims in his clutches. Matt’s emotion was captured in heartbreaking fashion by the duo when Matt was forced to make his decision and the emotion leapt from the pages allowing the reader to feel the weight as if it were their own. With the colors there is a gorgeous page of Matt and his red suit against Wrath and the green smoke that is a beauty to look at. Meanwhile Clayton’s letters weave around our pages and bring even more weight to the decisions made in this issue tying it all together.

Overall Grade: 9.1/10

Daredevil #19 is going to change Matt and the reader’s lives forever as his choice in this issue looms largely on what is to come. There is yet more mystery as Fisk makes an out-of-character choice with his money and sets the stage for the next arc ahead.
